Jazz Determined To Re-Sign Walker Kessler In Restricted Free Agency

The Utah Jazz are determined to re-sign Walker Kessler in restricted free agency, sources tell Jake Fischer. The Jazz and Kessler ended extension talks in September, well before the October 20th deadline as it was clear they were far apart on a workable number.
Two teams that could have pursued Kessler in restricted free agency, the Indiana Pacers and Washington Wizards, made trades at the deadline for big men in Ivica Zubac and Anthony Davis. Utah made a similar trade deadline move for Jaren Jackson Jr., but they envision a jumbo frontcourt of Jackson, Kessler and Lauri Markkanen.
Kessler appeared in just five games this season before undergoing shoulder surgery, averaging 14.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 blocks in 30.8 minutes.
Kessler is represented by Aaron Mintz, Houston Kessler and Dave Spahn of CAA.
