Warriors Reached Out To Clippers On Kawhi Leonard At Trade Deadline

The Golden State Warriors were one of the teams that reached out to the Los Angeles Clippers ahead of the deadline with trade interest in Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers also traded James Harden and Ivica Zubac at the deadline as they signaled a pivot to a new era of their franchise.
Multiple teams reached out to the Clippers on Leonard, who is signed for one more season at $50.3 million.
Leonard turns 35 in June and is having one of the best seasons of his career as he is averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals in 32.4 minutes. Leonard's PER of 27.4 is his highest since the 2016-17 season.
Leonard and the Clippers are expected to assess his future with the franchise again in the offseason.
At the deadline, the Warriors also had interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaren Jackson Jr. before making a less ambitious trade for Kristaps Porzingis with the Atlanta Hawks.
